Incorporation of iron oxide nanoparticles and quantum dots into silica microspheres.

چکیده
We describe the synthesis of magnetic and fluorescent silica microspheres fabricated by incorporating maghemite (gamma-Fe2O3) nanoparticles (MPs) and CdSe/CdZnS core/shell quantum dots (QDs) into a silica shell around preformed silica microspheres. The resultant approximately 500 nm microspheres have a narrow size distribution and show uniform incorporation of QDs and MPs into the shell. We have demonstrated manipulation of these microspheres using an external magnetic field with real-time fluorescence microscopy imaging.

Present review article describes main causes of chronic kidney disease a major health problem public health problem round the globe. Disease has multiple etiologies related to sequential pathophysiological stages. It has major concern with chronic changes in renal structure and that severely alter glomerular filtration rate in patients. This article explains CKD biomarkers in brief i.e., serum ...
متن کاملpH sensitive CdS-iron oxide fluorescent-magnetic nanocomposites.
There has been great interest in the use of nanoparticles for imaging, particularly in multimodal applications (e.g., combination of MRI and fluorescence). Yet creating particles with multiple functionalities has been challenging. Here, we report the synthesis of pH sensitive, fluorescent-magnetic, nanocomposites created through a simple aqueous procedure. Separately synthesized superparamagnet...
متن کاملInvestigation on Formation Mechanism of Magnetic Nanoparticles-Coated on Polystyrene Microspheres in Aqueous Solution of Anhydrous Ethylenediamine and Hexamethylenetetramine
In the past decades, there is a growing interest in the design and synthesis of composite microspheres with a dielectric solid sphere (e.g., silica, polystyrene) covered by metallic and their corresponding metal oxides shell, such as copper[1], gold[2], silver[3,4], iron oxide[5], zinc oxide[6,7], titanium oxide[8,9] and zirconium dioxide[10]. Such materials may exhibit a few unique electrical,...
متن کاملFluorescent Contrast agent Based on Graphene Quantum Dots Decorated Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles for Detecting and Sorting Cancer Cells
Background and Objectives: The inability of classic fluorescence-activated cell sorting to single cancer cell sorting is one of the most significant drawbacks of this method. The sorting of cancer cells in microdroplets significantly influences our ability to analyze cancer cell proteins. Material and Methods: We adapted a developed microfluidic device as a 3D in vitro model to sorted MCF-7 c...
متن کاملRaspberry-like PS/CdTe/Silica Microspheres for Fluorescent Superhydrophobic Materials
Superhydrophobic particulate films were fabricated via deposition of raspberry-like fluorescent PS/CdTe/silica microspheres on clean glass substrates and surface modification. Particularly, the fluorescent microspheres were prepared by a kind of modified strategy, namely introducing poly (acrylic acid)-functionalized polystyrene microspheres and thiol-stabilized CdTe quantum dots into a hydroly...
